Health Nut
Cashew’s Latin name, Anacardium occidentale, refers to the unique heart-shaped, edible nut. The cashew tree, native to tropical South America, gained worldwide attention when Portuguese merchants began selling the nuts as a delicacy. Since then, all parts of the tree have been used for fuel, fiber, fodder, timber, dye material, medicine and food. The cashew tree thrives in warm tropical climates near the equator, both as a cultivated plant and on its own in the wild.

Product of Vietnam
Navitas Naturals Cashew Nuts come from the tropical regions of Vietnam, where the woody evergreen cashew tree develops small yellowish-pink flowers that eventually produce fruits. The swollen pear shaped fruits have a hard heart-shaped protrusion at the tip encasing the cashew nut.
We work closely with our suppliers to take great care in extracting the cashew nutmeats from the hard, bitter shell. To preserve valuable enzymes, healthy fats and the sweet delicate flavor, we use a special hand-shelled, low-heat extraction process. Navitas Naturals cashews are certified organic, kosher, vegan and raw.

Superior Snacking
The delicious cashew's rich array of beneficial oils contains an ideal ratio of healthy saturated, monounsaturated, and polyunsaturated fats. Cashews have been shown to decrease cholesterol, reduce the risk of heart disease and recent clinical trials have also shown cashews to be effective for those who have or are at risk of developing diabetes.
The cultivation of cashews is a sustainable option for farmers, which can provide ecological and social benefits. Most of the world's supply of cashews comes from small landholders, or the wild. Governments around the globe have promoted the cultivation of cashews because the trees are so well suited for sustainable and organic cultivation, and require minimal care and low resource input. Cashew trees respond well to intercropping (being grown among other crops), which helps support the diversity of income for farmers. Cultivation of these trees is often used as a tool to rehabilitate degraded lands that were once deforested and barren from slash and burn agriculture.
Cashews are a healthy food, not a miracle drug. Health claims herein have not been reviewed by the FDA. Navitas Naturals products are not intended to treat, diagnose, cure or prevent any disease.
