Cajun Fries

spicy sweet potato snack

The combination of Cajun seasoning and coconut water powder makes these fries so irresistibly delectable, they don’t even need a dipping sauce!


2 tsp Cajun Spice Seasoning
2 Tbsp Navitas Naturals Coconut Water Powder
2 pounds Sweet Potatoes
2 Tbsp Coconut Oil, melted
Sea Salt & Black Pepper to taste


Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

In a small bowl, mix the Cajun spice seasoning and coconut water powder together, taking care to break up any clumps. Set aside.

Cut the sweet potatoes into small fry-size wedges. Transfer to a large bowl, and toss with coconut oil, as well as a little salt and pepper. Spread out onto 2 baking sheets in flat layer. Roast for 15 minutes, flip the fries with a spatula, and roast for 10-15 minutes longer, or until the fries are cooked through and the surface of the sweet potatoes has begun to caramelize.

Remove the fries from the oven. Use a spoon to scoop up a bit of the spice mixture, and tap it over the fries to dust them lightly with the spices. -- see chef's note below on dusting. Toss the fries and repeat to desired level of seasoning. Serve warm.

Chef's Notes

The coconut water cannot be simply “tossed on” and then mixed – it will stick together in clumps. It is important to keep a light hand to dust the fries evenly to achieve the subtle flavor effect.
