Coconut-Pecan Teff Porridge

Coconut water powder makes this teff porridge extra tantalizing, creating a flavorful, warm, and hearty breakfast that couldn’t be easier to make. Teff is an ancient tiny grain that is high in protein and gluten-free – you can find it in natural food stores.


3 Tbsp Navitas Naturals Coconut Water Powder
½ Cup Teff Grain
½ tsp Vanilla Extract
¼ Cup Unsweetened Coconut Flakes
¼ Cup Navitas Naturals Hemp Seeds
⅓ Cup raw Pecans, chopped
⅓ Cup Raisins
Coconut Milk (boxed variety)


In a medium-sized saucepan, mix the coconut powder with 2 cups of water, and bring to a boil. Add the teff and vanilla extract, reduce heat to medium-low, and cover. Cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Uncover the teff and add the coconut flakes, hemp seeds, pecans and raisins. Continue to cook, uncovered for 2-5 minutes longer, until the teff is cooked through and the excess liquid has cooked away. Remove from heat, transfer to serving bowls, and top with coconut milk as desired.
